HL Deb 10 March 1910 vol 5 cc136-7
THE EARL OF CAMPERDOWN

Your Lordships were good enough last session to accede to my Motion to appoint a Select Committee to consider and report upon the Standing Orders relating to Standing Committees, and the noble Lords named of the Committee in the Motion now standing in my name on the Paper were appointed as members of that Committee. Early in the session some of the members of the Committee found it inconvenient to attend, and other circumstances occurred so that the Committee never met. But I now ask your Lordships to reappoint the Committee, and I propose, if my Motion is agreed to, to call the Committee together as soon as convenient. The names which appear on your Lordships' Paper are, as I have said, the same names as appeared last year. I propose, however, to add the name of Lord Clifford of Chudleigh, but in order to do that I must make a separate Motion on Monday. I beg to move.

Moved, That a Select Committee be appointed to consider and report upon the Standing Orders relating to Standing Committees.—(The Earl of Camperdown.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly: Then the Lords following were named of the Committee:

The Committee to appoint their own Chairman.
