HL Deb 02 March 1899 vol 67 c1005
THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (The Duke of NORFOLK)

My Lords, I beg to move the Second Reading of this Bill, which is identical with the Bill I introduced last year, but which, for want of time, was unable to be passed. The object of the Bill is to introduce and make effective in the Channel Islands the provisions for the protection of the Postmaster-General's telegraphs which are in force in other parts of the United Kingdom. The Bill has been drawn up in conjunction with the authorities of the Channel Islands, and I hope your Lordships will give it a Second Reading.

Question put.

Bill read a second time, and committed to a Committee of the whole House on Monday next.
