HL Deb 22 July 1898 vol 62 c801

This is a very small Bill, and deals with a very small point which was overlooked in the Bill brought in last year by the Home Office. That Bill amended a clause in a former Act, and it was afterwards found that it had altered the arrangements with regard to the application of the fines which were applied under a former agreement. That was not intended, and this Bill is merely for the purpose of making it clear that these fines should be applied in the way proposed.

Motion made.

Question put— That the Bill be read a second time.

Agreed to.

Read the second time, and committed to a Committee of the whole House on Thursday next.
