§ I. General report to the Board of Trade upon the accidents that have occurred on the railways of the United Kingdom during the year 1897.
§ II. Return of accidents and casualties as reported to the Board of Trade by the several railway companies in the United Kingdom during the six months ending 30th June, 1898, in pursuance of the Regulation of Railways Act (1871), 34th 6 and 35th Victoria, chapter 78; together with reports of the inspecting officers of the Railway Department to the Board of Trade upon certain accidents which were inquired into.
