HL Deb 28 May 1897 vol 49 c1503

This Act shall not apply to Scotland or Ireland.

LORD COLERIDGE

moved to leave out the words "or Ireland," and said it was the desire of both sides that he should do so.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR OF IRELAND (Lord ASHBOUBNE)

said his attention had not been directed to the matter, and he did not know what the opinion was in regard to it. He would, however, consider it.

LORD COLERIDGE

asked leave to withdraw the Amendment so that he might bring it up on the Third Reading.

Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.

Amendments reported (according to Order), and Bill to be Read 3a on Monday next.
