HL Deb 02 August 1897 vol 52 c80
THE EARL OF DENBIGH

, in moving the Second Reading of this Bill, said the Bill was really a Treasury Bill for the purpose of arranging a consolidated loan of £65,000 to the authorities in Wicklow for the purpose of repairing the present harbour, which had fallen seriously into disrepair. The advance was the result of a compromise come to between the local taxpayers and the Treasury.

Read 2a (according to Order), and committed to a Committee of the Whole House To-morrow.
