HL Deb 19 March 1896 vol 38 c1313
THE EARL OF ROSEBERY

I rise to ask the noble Marquess a question of which I have given him private notice. It is, whether he is in a position to confirm or contradict the report, of the fall or abandonment of Kassala?

THE PRIME MINISTER (The MARQUESS of SALISBURY)

We have received no information whatever of the kind, and I think I may say, therefore, the probability is that the Italian Government have received no information of the kind. I believe it probable they would have informed us if they had.
