HL Deb 30 May 1895 vol 34 c609
LORD CONNEMARA

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether it was the intention of Her Majesty's Government to lay upon the Table of the House papers relating to the affairs of Asiatic Turkey?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (the Earl of KIMBERLEY)

said, that at the proper time Papers upon this subject would be laid on the Table, but at the present moment, when negotiations were actively going on with the Turkish Government as to reforms in the interest of the Armenians, and when a project had been presented to the Sultan by the Ambassadors of the Three Powers who were acting in concert in this matter, it would not, in his opinion, be to the public interest that Papers should be laid on the Table.

House adjourned at Ten minutes after Five o'clock till Monday, the 17th of June.
