HL Deb 06 July 1895 vol 35 c262

Moved, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty to request that Her Majesty will be graciously pleased, on the occurrence of a vacancy in the office of Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, to defer the appointment of his successor, as it is probable that a smaller salary than the present would be assigned to any future holder of the office, and as it would be desirable that a further opportunity should be afforded of considering the duties which should be attached to it, and the conditions under which it should be held—(The, Chairman of Committees); agreed to: The said Address to be presented to Her Majesty by the Lords with White Staves.
