HL Deb 19 July 1894 vol 27 cc335-6

Order of the Day for the Second Reading, read.

THE EARL OF KIMBERLEY

My Lords, this is simply a Bill enabling the Bank of England to pay over a certain sum of money to the representatives of the Sultan of Zanzibar. The money cannot be paid over without this authority under the guarantee given by the Treasury. The Bill is merely for that purpose.

Moved, "That the Bill be now read 2a."—(The Earl of Kimberley.)

Motion agreed to; Bill read 2a accordingly, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House To-morrow.
