HL Deb 30 November 1893 vol 19 c87

Bill read 3a (according to Order).

LORD ACTON

begged to move two necessary Amendments; the first was merely a question of language, and the second was an Amendment which the operation of the Bill required.

Amendments proposed, In Clause 2, page 1, line 8, after ("salaries") insert ("payable"); after line 12, insert— "(2) In Ireland, such salaries and expenses shall be defrayed, if payable or incurred by the Council of a municipal borough, out of the borough fund or borough rate, and, if payable or incurred by the Commissioners of a town or township, out of any rate leviable by them as such Commissioners throughout the whole of their district.

Amendments agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
