HL Deb 08 May 1893 vol 12 c301

Commons Message considered (according to order).

LORD PLAYFAIR moved that this House do concur in the following Resolution communicated by the Commons— namely:— That all Bills of the present Session to confirm Provisional Orders made by the Board of Trade, under the 'Railway and Canal Traffic Act, 1888,' containing the Classification of Merchandise Traffic, and the Schedule of Maximum Rates, Tolls, and Charges applicable thereto, be referred to a Joint Committee of Lords and Commons. He said this was practically the same Resolution as had been passed by the House of Lords for the last two years to consider Railway Provisional Orders under the Railway and Canal Traffic Act, 1888. The only difference was that on this occasion there were five Canal Bills to be referred to the Joint Committee instead of Railway Bills.

Motion agreed to, and a Message ordered to be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
