§ REPORT OF AMENDMENTS.
§ Amendments reported (according to order).
§ Clause 9.
§ *THE MARQUESS OF WATERFORDMy Lords, I have a further Amendment upon the Paper, which I beg to move in consequence of the statement made by my noble Friend when we were discussing this Bill on the Second Reading. At that time I objected to a smaller sum than £100, which is the sum named under the present law, being applied to drainage and other improvements in Ireland; and my noble Friend stated that this clause only applied to buildings, to which I should have no objection; but I think it is a ridiculous thing to talk of creating a drainage district and allowing an advance of £50. I, therefore, beg to move the Amendment that stands in my name.
§ Amendment moved, in page 3, line 27, after ("loan") to insert ("for the erection of buildings").—(The Marquess of Waterford.)
1792§ EARL CADOGANMy Lords, as I intimated on the last occasion that the Irish Government take the same view as the noble Marquess takes with regard to this clause, I see no objection to his Amendment if it is satisfactory to him.
