§ EARL DE LA WARRMy Lords, I wish to give notice that after the Recess I propose to call attention to the subject of fires on board passenger ships carrying inflammable substances, and to ask Her Majesty's Government whether any measures can be adopted, either through the Board of Trade, or otherwise, to afford greater security to life and property, especially with reference to transatlantic steamers.
