HL Deb 20 March 1890 vol 342 c1229

I need only say that the measure is identical with that which was proposed to your Lordships last Session except in one particular, that it provides for giving power to the County Councils to exercise their influence in regard to the heating apparatus of houses to be constructed. I shall not move for a day for Second Reading until the various bodies and associations interested in the matter have had an opportunity of scrutinising its provisions.

A Bill to amend the Acts for abating the nuisance arising from the smoke of furnaces and fireplaces within the Metropo is—Was presented by the Lord Stratheden and Campbell; read 1a; and to be printed. (No. 45.)
