HL Deb 11 July 1889 vol 338 c106

SECOND READING.

Order of the Day for the Third Reading, read.

Moved, "That the Bill be now read 3ª."—(The Viscount Portman.)

Motion agreed to.

Bill read 3ª (according to order).

Moved, "That the Bill do pass."—(The Viscount Portman.)

LORD DENMAN

, although he did not desire to imperil the passing of the Bill into law, wished to know whether it was possible to insert in it a provision allowing three days' additional time for the placing of the lists of voters on church doors?

VISCOUNT PORTMAN

was understood to say that this was only a temporary measure, extending over two years, and that it was undesirable to introduce into it the proposition of the noble Lord.

Motion agreed to; Bill passed.
