HL Deb 01 February 1886 vol 302 cc533-4
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I have simply to state to the House what is already very well known to you—namely, that Her Majesty's Government—the late Government—I do not know what to call it—have resigned, and that Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to accept their resignation. I understand that Mr. Gladstone has gone down to Osborne, and has undertaken the task of forming a Go- vernment; and, under the circumstances, I have now to move that your Lordships do adjourn until Thursday.

House adjourned at half past Four o'clock, till To-morrow, a quarter past Ten o'clock.
