HL Deb 20 November 1884 vol 294 c38
VISCOUNT SIDMOUTH

said, he wished to know very distinctly, Whether the First Lord of the Admiralty intended to make his promised Statement as to the state of the Navy on Monday week, as he (Viscount Sidmouth) postponed, at the express wish of the noble Earl, the question on the subject which he had had on the Paper for some time?

EARL GEANVILLE

said, that the noble Marquess (the Marquess of Salisbury) had given a sufficient answer to that Question by saying that there would be no contentious Business on Monday week.
