HL Deb 26 June 1884 vol 289 c1333
THE EARL OF CARNARVON

I beg to give Notice that, on Tuesday next, I shall move to resolve— That the terms of the agreement between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of France, as indicated in the correspondence recently presented to Parliament, are such as in the opinion of this House will not lead to the establishment of tranquillity and good government in Egypt, and will fail to produce results adequately corresponding to the sacrifices which England has made, and may be called upon to make, in that country.
