HL Deb 23 June 1884 vol 289 c1062
THE BISHOP OF LICHFIELD

, who had the following Notice on the Paper: — To ask the Under Secretary of State for the War Department for information respecting the court of inquiry held in Lichfield to inquire into certain proceedings connected with the yeomanry in that city; particularly as to the constitution of the court and the matters to which the inquiry extended, said, that after the announcement made in "another place "of the intention to hold a further inquiry into the matter, and being privately informed that a Commission to conduct that inquiry would meet on the following day, he thought it would be more courteous to all parties concerned to postpone the Question. He earnestly trusted the result of the inquiry would be such as to render his Question altogether unnecessary.
