HL Deb 01 April 1884 vol 286 cc1254-5
EARL DE LA WARR

asked the Lord President of the Council, Whether a copy of the Report from the School Management Committee of the London School Board in February last can be laid upon the Table of the House; also a copy of the Memorial forwarded to the Education Department relative to the examination of young children in schools.

Moved for— Copy of the Memorial forwarded to Education Department relative to the examination of young children in schools; with the answer of the Education Department thereto."—(The Earl DE La Warr.)

LORD CARLINGFORD (LORD PRESIDENT of the COUNCIL)

My Lords, the Memorial to the Education Department can and will be laid upon the Table, together with the answer which the Department has made. With respect to their Report from the School Management Committee the case is different. I have no doubt that the noble Earl is entitled, as a ratepayer, to see it if he pleases, though, if there is any difficulty about it, I shall he glad to assist him in the matter; but it would not be usual to make these Reports Parliamentary Papers.

Motion agreed to.
