HL Deb 12 July 1883 vol 281 c1181
THE EARL OF LONGFORD (in the absence of Viscount SIDMOUTH)

asked Her Majesty's Government, Whether a Report in reference to the causes of the recent catastrophe on the river Clyde will be laid before Parliament?

EARL GRANVILLE

, in reply, said, that Sir Edward J. Reed, whose reputation was well known as a great shipwright, had been deputed by the Government to hold an inquiry into the matter. The Report which had already appeared in the daily papers was not the official Report, which had not yet been given. There would be no objection to lay it on the Table when it appeared.
