said, he must express his satisfaction with the selection that had been made for the Office of Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod. He had no doubt that the gallant Officer who had been appointed might be relied on to bear in mind their Lordships' recommendation as to filling up vacancies in the Office with old soldiers and sailors.
