THE EARL OF NORTHBROOK

said, there was a sufficient fund at the disposal of the Commissioners, supplemented as it would be from other funds that were available, to render it unnecessary that an appeal should be made to the public for subscriptions for the widows and orphans of the sufferers by the loss of the Doterel, and he hoped that other similar cases would also be met in the same manner in future.
