My Lords, half-an-hour ago, the following telegram was received at the India Office:—

"From Sir R. Sandeman, Sept. 3.

"General Phayre telegraphs through Chaman:—'Roberts attacked and dispersed Ayoub's force. Captured 27 guns. Cabulis retreated up Argandab.'"
