My Lords, I beg to give Notice, on behalf of my noble Friend (Viscount Halifax), that on Monday next he will move the following Amendment to the Motion to be proposed by the noble Viscount the Secretary of State for India:— That, while this House whilst ready to consent to providing the means necessary for bringing the war in which we are unhappily engaged to a safe and honourable conclusion, regrets the conduct pursued by the Government which has unnecessarily engaged this country in the contest.
