HL Deb 06 August 1878 vol 242 c1285

Order of the Day for the Second Reading, read.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR,

in moving that the Bill be now read a second time, stated that the object of the Bill, which had come up from the Commons, was simply for the revision of the Statutes of Ireland, in conformity with the system adopted for revising the English Statute Laws, and it would effect a very important reform.

Motion agreed to; Bill read 2a accordingly, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House on Thursday next.
