§ EARL GRANVILLEMy Lords, seeing the noble Earl the Secretary for Foreign Affairs in his place, I wish to ask him whether there is any information which he will feel at liberty to make known with respect to the negotiations understood to be proceeding on the subject of the Eastern Question?
§ THE EARL OF DERBYNegotiations are going on with regard to the Eastern Question. I hope that before long I shall be able to make a statement on the subject to your Lordships; but, at present, matters are not in such a position as to enable me to do so.
