HL Deb 03 July 1877 vol 235 c663
EARL GRANVILLE

My Lords, I desire to ask my noble Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs a Question of which I have given him private Notice. I beg to ask him, Whether he is able to give any information to the House with regard to the alleged departure of the Mediterranean Fleet from the Piræus?

THE EARL OF DERBY

My Lords, it is a fact, as stated in the newspapers, that orders have been given to the British Fleet to leave the Piraeus, where it had been stationed, and return to the station where it was last year—Besika Bay.
