HL Deb 11 May 1874 vol 219 c1
LORD NAPIER AND ETTRICK

said, that since he had given Notice of his intention to call the attention of their Lordships to the subject of dwellings for the London Poor, the question had been brought forward with much ability in the other House, and the statement made on behalf of the Government, in answer to the hon. Gentleman who had introduced it, was regarded as so satisfactory that he and those with whom he had the honour to act were desirous of leaving it in the hands of the Ministry. There would be no occasion, therefore, for him to act on the Notice which stood in his name for to-morrow.
