Message from the Commons that they have appointed a Committee to consist of five members to join with a Committee of their Lordships to inquire into the question of Metropolitan Tramways proposed to be sanctioned by Bills in the present Session, and to report: (1) Whether it is desirable or not that any fresh Tramways should be laid within the Metropolitan area; (2) What should be the limits of the Metropolitan area in respect of Tramways; (3) Under what authority the construction and working of Metropolitan Tramways, if any, should be placed; (4) Along what lines of streets, if any, Tramways should be allowed to be constructed, and under what restrictions; and to request that their Lordships will be pleased to appoint an equal number of Lords to be joined with the members of that House:

Ordered, That the said Message be taken into consideration on Monday next.
