EARL STANHOPE

, pursuant to Notice, moved— That there be laid before the House, Copies of any correspondence which has passed between the Lord Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench or the Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas on the one hand and the First Lord of the Treasury or the Lord Chancellor on the other relative to the appointment of Sir Robert Collier as a paid member of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council; also, copy of Letter of the Right Honourable Mr. Justice Willes to the Lord Chancellor, dated 5th February 1872: Also, Return showing the dates of the appointment of Sir Robert Collier as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas and as a member of the Judicial Committee.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

said, there was no objection to the production of the Papers moved for by the noble Earl, and he would beg to add to them correspondence with the right hon. Mr. Justice Willes.
