§ THE EARL OF MALMESBURYMy Lords, before we proceed to the Business on the Paper, I beg to move that an humble Address he presented to Her Majesty, congratulating Her Majesty on the Princess of Wales having given birth to a Princess, and assuring Her Majesty of the deep interest which is felt by the House of Lords in all that concerns the domestic happiness of Her Majesty and her family. I am sure this Address will be cordially adopted by your Lordships, interested as we all are in the domestic happiness of Her Majesty, and grateful as we are to Providence for having preserved the Princess of Wales through this period of trial. I believe, indeed, there is not a person in the country who does not share the same sentiments, for it is impossible that anyone in her high position could have more endeared herself to the nation than Her Royal Highness has done.
