HL Deb 28 November 1867 vol 190 c314
VISCOUNT STRATFORD DE REDCLIFFE

asked the noble Earl the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he was prepared to lay on the Table the further Correspondence relating to the Cretan Insurrection which he promised at the end of last Session? He thought it very desirable that the papers should be produced as early as possible, because it appeared that the negotiations which had for some time been made to bring about a reconciliation between the Porte and its revolted subjects had failed, and that a correspondence of considerable importance with other Powers, which might lead to complications, had taken place.

THE EARL OF DERBY

Additional papers on this subject of Crete are now in preparation, and will be laid on the table of the House before the adjournment for the Christmas holydays.
