HL Deb 11 March 1867 vol 185 c1626
EARL GRANVILLE

asked, Whether it was the intention of the Government to lay upon the table of the House any information with respect to Reform in addition to that which had been collected by the late Government?

THE EARL OF DERBY

said, that no additional statistics with regard to the representation of the people had been called for by the Government or produced. All the statistical information which they had was already before Parliament; but that information would be shortly presented to Parliament in a more compact and comprehensive form, for the purpose of supplying the best information as to the probable effect of the Government proposals. He understood that several Motions for the purpose of obtaining further information had been made in the other House, and of course it was perfectly competent for any Member of their Lordships' House to make the same Motions here.
