Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

LORD REDESDALE

said, that he did not intend to persevere with the Bill, for the reason that Government were going on with a measure on the subject in the House of Commons, and he thought that the legislation on the subject should be as large as practicable. Under these circumstances he should now propose that the Order for the second reading should be discharged.
