To acquaint this House, That they have appointed a Committee consisting of Five Members to join with a Committee of the Lords "to consider the best Method of" dealing with the Railway Schemes "proposed to be sanctioned within the Limits of" the Metropolis by Bills to be introduced in "the present Session, and to report their" Opinion whether any, and, if any, what "Schemes should not be proceeded with "during the present Session;" and to request that their Lordships will be pleased to appoint an equal Number of Lords to be joined with the Members of the House of Commons.

LORD STANLEY OF ALDERLEY

said, that his noble Friend (Earl Granville) was unable, through indisposition, to be present this evening, but it was his noble Friend's intention on Thursday to move the appointment of a Committee to consider this subject.
