THE LORD CHANCELLORpresented a Bill to amend the Law relating to the Administration of Endowed Charities, which he said had for its object to enable the Charity Commissioners to take cognizance of a certain class of cases without applying to the Court of Chancery.
§ LORD CRANWORTHsaid, that the country owed much to the Commissioners, whose useful services were manifested in not the least striking manner in the Bill then before their Lordships.
LORD BROUGHAMconcurred in these remarks, and said that few Acts had exer- 2 cised so important or beneficial an influence on the times and country.
