The Standing Order of the 3rd of July, respecting the reference to the Lord Chancellor or Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of Claims of Rights of voting at the Election of Representative Peers of Ireland. further considered, (according to order); moved, to vacate the said Order; the same was agreed to: then it was moved to resolve, That when any Petition claiming a right to vote at the Election of Representative Peers for Ireland by virtue of any Peerage in right of which a vote shall have been given and recorded at any Election of a Representative Peer, or a right to vote at such election shall have been admitted by the House of Lords, such Petition shall be referred to the Lord Chancellor or the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of the United Kingdom, to consider and report thereupon; and the Lord Chancellor or the Lord Keeper is upon such reference to consider the matter of such Petition, and report thereupon to the House (the Lord Monteagle of Brandon): objected to; and (after debate) resolved in the affirmative; and the said Resolution declared a Standing Order, and ordered to be added to the roll of Standing Orders.
