HL Deb 16 December 1852 vol 123 cc1568-9
The MARQUESS of LANSDOWNE

moved an Address for a copy of a Minute or Minutes of Treasury, relating to the sale of works sanctioned by the Board of Education in Ireland. He did so without impugning the decision which had been come to on the subject; but because it was essential that this information should be communicated to the public and to the proprietors and managers of schools.

The EARL of DERBY

quite agreed with the noble Marquess as to the propriety of laying those papers on the table; and he hoped he would find that the result, which was in accordance with the proposition that had been made by the noble Marquess himself in 1851, would lead to a final and satisfactory settlement of this question. That morning he had had the satisfaction to receive a note from the Commissioners, announcing their en- tire approbation of the arrangement which had been made.

Motion agreed to.

House adjourned till To-morrow.
