HL Deb 20 May 1851 vol 116 c1153

House in Committee.

LORD CAMPBELL

stated that the operation of these Bills extended to Ireland; and he had received a letter from the Lord Justice Clerk of Scotland, requesting that a part of their provisions might be extended to Scotland also. He (Lord Campbell) should be most willing to follow his advice; but as only a part of the provisions were applicable to Scotland, he recommended that a separate Bill should be introduced for that purpose. He would either introduce it himself, or if the Lord Advocate introduced it, he would lend his best assistance to carry it through Parliament.

Amendments made: the report thereof to be received on Thursday next.
