§ The EARL of LONSDALEseconded the Amendment, on the ground that the Bill would lead to great abuses.
§ The DUKE of CLEVELAND, in spite of some objections to the Bill, was of opinion that it ought to be committed.
§ It was also opposed by the Earl of MALMESBURY, Lord BEAUMONT, and the Marquess of SALISBURY.
