HL Deb 08 August 1844 vol 76 c1922
Lord Wharncliffe

moved that this House do not insist upon their objections to the Commons' Amendments of the County Coroners Bill, respecting the mileage.

Lord Beaumont

hoped the House would, not agree with the Commons' Amendments. The Bill, in its present state, had "job" written upon the face of it.

The Marquess of Normanby

supported the Amendments.

Their Lordships divided on Question, "not to insist:"—Content 14; Not Content 14.

The numbers being equal, it was (according to ancient rule), resolved in the negative.*

House adjourned.
