HL Deb 22 April 1842 vol 62 c997
Lord Wharncliffe

moved the second reading of the Queen's Prison Bill.

The Marquess of Normanby

concurred in the object of the bill, a measure which it had been his intention to introduce.

The Bishop of London

inquired whether there was a provision in the bill giving power to the Bishop of the diocese to superintend the religious instruction of the persons confined in the Queen's prison?

Lord Wharncliffe

said, there was nothing in the bill at present to that effect.

Bill read a second time.

House adjourned.
