HL Deb 31 July 1840 vol 55 c1164
Viscount Duncannon

having moved that the House go into committee on the Court Houses (Ireland) Bill,

The Earl of Charleville

objected to proceeding with that measure at so late a period of the Session, when there was not time to investigate it. He was, therefore, disposed to move an amendment, that the committee be deferred to this day three months.

Viscount Duncannon

stated, that the bill was founded on the memorials and statements of several of the Irish counties.

Their Lordships divided: — Contents 33; Not-contents 24: Majority 9.

Bill went through committee.
