HL Deb 10 August 1838 vol 44 c1146
Lord Brougham

moved the third reading of the Court of Session (Scotland) Bill.

The Earl of Haddington

moved the omission of a proviso at the end of the 34th clause, empowering either House of Parliament to rescind by resolutions any acts of sederunt passed by the Court of Session.

Lord Brougham

and Lord Lyndhurst suggested the propriety of omitting the entire clause.

Their Lordships divided on the omission of the clause—Content 20; Not Content 13: Majority 7.

Bill read a third time and passed.
