HL Deb 19 July 1836 vol 35 c307
Lord Lyndhurst

presented a petition from Mr. David Daley, praying that the principle adopted in the English Chancery Bill, the 3rd and 4th William 4th., might be applied to the Irish Court of Chancery Officers' Abolition Bill.

Lord Plunkett

stated, that the petitioner had obtained an ample compensation, and that he wanted to obtain a situation as assistant registrar, to which he was not entitled. He conceived that he was bound to abide by the provisions of the Act upon this subject, which he (Lord Plunkett) had had the honour to introduce. There would be a saving of nearly 3,000l. per annum to the public by the new arrangement in that department.

Petition laid on the table.
