said, that he had had an opportunity of ascertaining, by the votes on their Lord-ships' Table that a proposition exactly similar to one their Lordships had frequently rejected when he had submitted it to them, had been agreed to the night before by the other House of Parliament. That proposition was for a Select Committee to inquire into the condition of the Irish Poor. It was not his intention then to say any thing on the subject, but he would now give notice, that on Tuesday next he would call the attention of the House to the condition of the Irish Poor, in order to know what were the intentions of Ministers upon the subject.
