The archbishop of Canterbury and the bishop of Norwich were sworn, and took their seats.—The bills, upon the table, all private, were forwarded in their respective stages; and one private; bill, brought up from the Commons, was. read a first time.—Earl Fortescue acquainted their lordships with his intention to bring forward a motion to-morrow, relative to certain persons dismissed from his majesty's dock yards; and moved that the Lords be summoned for that day which was ordered accordingly.—It was ordered, on the motion of Lord Walsingham, that a message be sent to the commons, desiring that the right hon. Sir John; Stewart may be permitted to attend a committee of their lordships, should he so think fit.—Adjourned.
