The royal assent was given by commission to seventeen pub- lic and private bills: among the former were, the Exchequer Bills Bill, the Irish Revenue Bill, the Irish Countervailing Duties, the Irish Malt Duty, the Hides and Tallow Importation, the Sugar Warehousing, the Neutral Ships, the Rape Seed Oil Importation; and among the latter, Boydell's Picture Lottery Bill, the Rochdale Canal Subscription, and three Naturalization Bills. The Lords Commissioners were the Lord Chancellor, Lord Hawkesbury, and Lord Walsingllam.—Lord Ashburton was sworn and took his seat on attaining Ids majority.—Counsel were heard in continuation, relative to the Scotch Appeal, Fleming v. Abercromby.—The Volunteer Consolidation Bill was brought up from, the Commons by Mr. Tierney.
